Boutique, fine quality wines from the cool-climate of Orange

Welcome to Faisan Estate.

Our brand has certainly been through leaps and bounds since we first moved to Orange in 1991 and purchased Faisan, which had a sole acre of vineyard already planted.

From that sole acre, Col Walker made Faisan’s very first wine.

As well as expanding the vineyard to fifteen acres, we also established our own boutique winery at the estate, which was where Col continued to make Faisan’s wines until 2002, when production was temporarily ceased, but re-established in 2010 by Col’s youngest son Michael, who is now donning the winemaking hat.

From where the story goes from here is yet to be seen, but Faisan’s philosophy of making boutique, fine quality cool-climate wines from our family-owned vineyard and winery in the cool-climate wine region of Orange remains unchanged.

We’re extremely proud of Faisan’s roots and have the utmost belief in the quality of our vineyard and of the winemaking experience gained throughout our short history.

That being said, we also believe in the uniqueness and potential of Orange as a whole and will therefore be expanding Faisan’s range to include a small number of single vineyard wines made from fruit grown at alternate sites within the region; all of which will be vinified at our winery.

So seeing as Faisan is back in business, we felt a new website was in order.

It's certainly taken awhile to get it up and running, but we thank you for your patience and hopefully it's been worth the wait.

Here, you can learn more about the Faisan story, order our wines online and even signup to our newly established wine club, the Dead Pheasant Society.

So please, explore and keep drinking Faisan.

Cheers,

Michael Walker
